The Opportunity
As a result of expansion, Employment Office has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join their Brisbane Head Office Team.
You will be responsible for performing a progressive bookkeeping role that is earmarked to transition into financial accounting and reporting responsibilities, including:
- Financial analysis for up to six entities
- Journals, accruals and prepayments
- Monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts including inter company accounts
- Cash flow forecasting
- Accounts payable / receivable and payroll functions
- Month end accounting and reporting
- Assisting with the preparation of month end board reports
We are seeking a candidate with relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in a similar position. You will need to hold, or be working towards, your CPA / CA qualification.
A self motivated and task oriented achiever, you will thrive in an independent working environment, using your excellent time management skills and lateral thinking, coupled with a spark of initiative and motivation.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, and accurate data processing will be a breeze with your attention to detail and high level of computer literacy. In addition, experience with MYOB and similar applications will be highly advantageous. Excellent verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills are essential for this position as you liaise with internal and external customers on a daily basis.
