Your New Company

Employment Office (EO) is not a traditional “employment agency” – we are a Recruitment Solutions organization and an expert in effective recruitment processes and recruitment marketing strategies. How we do this is by splitting the traditional recruiter role into three distinctive teams of specialists - Sales, Recruitment Advertisers, and Shortlisting.

EO was founded in Australia as a unique recruitment service for businesses of all sizes. Fast-forward to today and the Vancouver sales team have taken the Canadian market by storm. Our brilliant recruitment solutions and affordable pricing ensure our clients keep coming back.

Our trusted and proven approach empowers our customers to secure the very best candidates for their organization. We make recruitment an easier and more cost-effective process where we bring the expertise and handle the work, but the customer stays in charge.

We’re a company full of professionals that work hard, enjoy each others company, and occasionally roll on the floor with our office puppy.

About the Opportunity

Due to an internal promotion, we currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Shortlisting Specialist to join our dynamic team of dedicated and hardworking professionals in our Downtown Vancouver office.

Working alongside a team of specialists and sales associates your primary responsibility in this role will be to help our clients find their ideal candidate by shortlisting and interviewing the candidates that have been sourced for a role.

Working to coordinate our shortlisting process across a wide range of roles and industries from entry-level to C-suite, your day to day activities will include:

  • Working with clients to establish what their ideal candidate would look like by managing multiple candidate pools using our applicant tracking system (ATS), screening applications, categorizing candidates, and continuously communicating feedback throughout a campaign.
  • Developing a tailored interview guide for each roled based on the client's expectations and requirements.
  • Shortlisting candidates based on a client's requirements.
  • Working with in house Recruitment Advertisers to ensure potential candidates are asked appropriate screening questions.
  • Carrying out two-way video interviews using Skype on shortlisted candidates and sharing them with the client.
  • Discussing shortlisted candidates with the client and working with them to coordinate face to face interviews.
  • Carrying out reference checks and criminal background checks as required as well as facilitating online behavioural tests.

In order to succeed in this role, you'll need previous experience that entailed lots of communication with multiple stakeholders along with a high level of comfort communicating effectively by phone and through online video tools like Skype. Previous recruitment experience or a post-secondary education in recruitment are not required but are absolutely assets.

Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal form are an absolute must for this role! In any given day you may find yourself communicating with a new graduate, an experienced hiring manager, and a seasoned CFO across a variety of mediums; as such you'll need to be a comfortable speaker and capable of pivoting your interpersonal approach with ease.

This truly is an enjoyable, satisfying position with plenty of opportunities for growth. If you love working with people and really enjoy the idea of helping candidates find the next exciting step in their career then we want to hear from you.

About the Benefits

The successful candidate will enjoy an attractive salary based on experience as well as a host of other benefits including:

  • A comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision and more
  • Life and long-term disability insurance
  • An opportunity to learn from experienced professionals in the recruitment industry
  • Quarterly staff awards nights, parties and celebrations of achievements
